Things to Know Before You Purchase
- Users must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to make online purchases.
- All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
- Licenses, tags, and report cards must be in possession to perform the applicable activity.
- At the end of the transaction you will be prompted to download and print your license(s) and receipt(s).
- Report cards, tags, and waterfowl passes are mail fulfilled only and cannot be downloaded for immediate use.
- Please allow at least 15 days to receive any mail fulfilled items. Contact us if you don’t receive your items within 15 days. If you don't contact us within 90 days after your purchase, you will be required to purchase duplicate items.

Get Outdoors! Register for a GO ID
Every customer purchasing a California fishing or hunting license, permits, or annual passes must create a customer record and obtain a Get Outdoors Identification (GO ID) number. Your GO ID will print on all your licenses and is used to help you track purchases, preference points, and harvest reporting requirements.
Hunter Education Requirements
To purchase hunting items online, you must have an Accepted Proof of Hunter Education added to your customer record. If you complete the online California Hunter Education Course, your certificate number will automatically be added to your customer record within 48 hours after completion of the course. If you are unable to wait 48 hours, you may provide your proof of hunter education to an authorized CDFW License Agent in your area.
To submit another form of hunter education, email us at LRB@wildlife.ca.gov and request a secure upload link to provide your proof of hunter education. Please allow up to five (5) business days for us to process your request. After your proof of hunter education has been added, you will be able to purchase hunting items during the current and future license years.
Harvest Reporting Requirement
All anglers or hunters that purchased a tag or report card are required to submit harvest data, even if they were unsuccessful or did not hunt or fish.
When it’s time to report, have your tag or report card in hand. Select Customer Login / Register, retrieve your customer record, and select “Harvest Reporting” from the main menu. Harvest reporting deadlines vary per species. Visit the CDFW website to obtain information about Hunting and Fishing harvest reporting requirements.
